I purchased this from a Russian art collector in Northern California. His garage was overflowing with artwork, and we spent hours looking through his collection. Perhaps you know the artist?
 
The painting seems very old. The paint on the canvas is chipping noticeably in some areas. I think this adds to the character of the painting. I feel a profound sense of peace as I look at this painting.
